Betty L. (Brown) Cordes, 89, of Osceola, died Friday March 3, 2017 at Riverside Village in Elkhart. Betty was born in Mishawaka on January 27, 1928 to Clarence & Florence (Cunningham) Overmier. She was a member of Osceola General Baptist Church and was an animal lover who enjoyed crochet, gardening, music & dancing, collecting dolls and browsing area auctions & garage sales. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Brown, her second husband, Norman Cordes and her sisters, Beatrice & Marie. She is survived by her children, Peggy (Tom) Summers and Larry (Polly) Brown, both of Elkhart; grandchildren, Michelle (Kurt) Zufan of Elkhart, Joey Summers of Bristol and Rick (Heather) Brown in Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Caroline) Zufan in Illinois, Kara Summers and Kaleb Summers, both of Bristol, Trey Zufan of Mishawaka and Breanna Buergey in Tennessee. Funeral Services 3:00 Sunday March 5, 2017 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with Rev. Ed Ritchie officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 1-3pm in the funeral home. Burial with graveside services at 10:00 Monday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
