HAYNES, Jerry Jul 16, 1950 – May 17, 2017

Jerry Haynes, 66, passed in New Albany, May 17. Jerry was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 16, 1950 to the late Margaret Ellen "Brown" Denkler and Gerald Denkler Sr. In life, Jerry was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of American Legion #28 as well as, the VFW. Jerry loved to danced. She also enjoyed playing games and bingo. Left to mourn in passing are her sons, Kelly Cook and Michael Cook; daughters, Michelle Morrison and Toni Meade; brothers, Robert Taylor and Gerald Denkler Jr.; sisters, Betty Kopp, Virginia Hampton, and Georgia Coles; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Gerald Denkler; husband, Ronald Haynes; son, Steven Denkler; and sisters, Pam Boswell and Sarah Schroeder. A memorial service will be held for Jerry on May 22 from 3 to 8 p.m., with the service to follow on May 23 at 11 a.m., Spring Valley Funeral Home.

  1. I’m saddened by the news of loosing my cousin Jerry. My heart is breaking for her children, grandchildren and siblings. When my family moved away from New Albany to Louisville Ky, i hated leaving my Denkler family. I cried for months wanting to go back home to New Albany. I just wish I’d have came back more often especially, in times like this, i miss you all so much. Until we meet again Jerry, I love you sweetheart.
