Hartford City, IN Mona Lynn Fights, 60, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her mother’s home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 24, 1957 in Marion to Robert and Virginia (Maddy) Fights and graduated from Blackford High School in 1976. Mona worked at Homestead Keg & Kettle for 24 years and later was cashier at LD’s, Bil’s Foods and Save-a-Lot. She enjoyed walking, reading (especially Harlequin Romances) and Karaoke with Paper Roses and One Day at a Time as her favorites. Survivors include her mother, Virginia; siblings, Ronald (Linda) Fights, Upland, Sharon (John) Gross, Hartford City, Brian (Janeen) Fights, Berne, Cindy (Joe) Ervin, Hartford City, Laura (Randy) Reynolds, Bluffton, Karen (Michael) Roberts, Hartford City, Dean (Angela) Fights, Hartford City, Tina (Robert) Freeman, Bargersville, Paul (Teresa) Fights, Eaton, and Suzanna (Jason) Crabtree, Eaton. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father on November 5, 1989. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Bobby Thomas presiding. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
