“Pat” Anne Derickson

Patsy “Pat” Anne Derickson, 73, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Pat was born on December 2, 1943, in Linton, IN, to Harold and Maxine (Arthur) Lawson. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, nephew Jeff Rajski, her four legged companion Harvey, a rescue dog from Pet Refuge and her husband, Lee Derickson. Pat is survived by her sisters, Kathi (Ron) Ginter,Sr., Sue (Jerry) Rajski, both from South Bend, IN and her brother, Robert (Roxanne) Lawson, , of North Liberty, IN. Aunt Pat is also survived by 6 nephews, Ron Ginter, Jr., and his companion Jamie Salinas, Garrett (Erin) Ginter, Sr., Grant (Stephanie) Ginter, Sr., Gregg (Pam) Rajski, Robert Lawson, II, and his companion Bryanna Weist and Jeremy Lawson, 2 nieces, Marcy (Paul) Lyzun and Teresa Hayden. Great Aunt to 6 great nephews, Grant II, Ryder, Garrett Jr., Drew Ginter, Tyler Rajski, and Robert Rex Lawson III, 7 great nieces, Chloe, Gabby, Kadia Ginter, Addison, Grace Rajski , Mira Spence and Lydia Hayden. She enjoyed being with her family and treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She always put everybody she loved and cared for first before herself. People who knew Pat referred to her as Aunt Pat. She worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department as a Secretarial Clerk at the Raco Corporation retiring in 2010, after 43 years of service. She was a huge New York Yankees baseball, IU Basketball and Green Bay Packers football fan. Pat was a member of the First Brethren Church in South Bend. She was baptized on May 11, 1997, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, by now retired Pastor Larry Baker; she was involved in the Women’s Group at the church doing different activities and functions, when she was able to attend. She was also member of the Prayer Chain. She enjoyed cooking meals for the shut-ins from the church. Pat’s family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Martin Wieschhaus and his medical associates, the nursing staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and to Hospice House of South Bend, for all the personal care and compassion that was given to Pat at her time of need. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St Mishawaka, IN. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am with one hour visitation prior, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, with Pastor Fred Youngen and Pastor Larry Baker officiating, at the First Brethren Church, 4909 S. Ironwood Rd., South Bend, IN. Burial will follow the service at the Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend, IN. Pat wishes were for memorial contributions to be made to the First Brethren Church, to benefit the special programs at the church or to Pet Refuge INC. 4626 Burnett Dr. South Bend, IN for the passion and love that she had for animals.
