Candace Toplis,
60, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 1, 2018 at Eskenazi hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Candace was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 5th, 1958 to the late Bob and Lois Byers. Candace attended Broad Ripple High School.

At 29 years old she married her soulmate, George Toplis. They were childhood friends and spent a lifetime selflessly loving one another. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2018.

Candace was a compassionate and dedicated mother to her three loving children, Sarah Toplis Moore (Andrew Moore), Katelyn Toplis and Nicholas Toplis (Jessica Hollibaugh) who survived her in death. She is also survived by her brothers, Bob Byers (Susan Byers) and Michael Byers (Wendy Toplis Byers).

Candace cherished every moment she had with her family, including her pets. She loved her life and never took a second for granted.
She enjoyed the simple things, the meaningful ones. The changing of the seasons, and the first winter snow always brought a smile to her face. She had a deep affection for the holidays and could always be counted on to spread Christmas cheer – throughout the entire year.

Sharing her collections of journals and trinkets always brought joy to her heart and she had a way of lighting up a room that could make anyone who entered it feel loved and appreciated.

To know her was to love her.

A daughter, a mother, a sister, and a friend, Candace will be dearly missed.

Arrangements are private and entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.E., 1505 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
