He was married to Mary Lou Carlson on Nov. 29, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska. Lyle was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. He was retired from the Wilson Meat Packing Plant in Logansport. She married Marion Myers Thompson, and had two daughters, Margy and Jane Thompson. After the unexpected death of her husband in 1951, she met and married Frank Doenges in 1954. With Frank, the family added a third daughter, Kay. The family moved to Louisville in 1963, where they became active members of Christ United Methodist Church.
