    GREENWOOD [mdash] Gary S. Atterson, 77, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019. Gary was born June 10, 1941, in Vigo County, the son of Charles and Mildred Atterson. Gary was a corporal in the Marine Corps and served in the Air Force Reserves. Growing up, Gary loved times with his friends, had a paper route and was an All-State football player from Paul C. Schulte High School. Gary served the U.S. Customs Department and the U.S. Treasury Department as a United States Federal Air Marshal. Gary was a devout Catholic, a winsome friend and a proud father.     Irene K. Alkire, 93, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Bethesda Gardens. She was born October 26, 1925 in Terre Haute to Fred Hampe and Agnes Fitch Hampe. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Clark; granddaughters, Tracey Clark and Lisa Clark; great granddaughter, Amie Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
