Palmyra, IN Jim Voyles, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 28, 2019 at his family’s home in Palmyra. Jim was born in New Albany, IN on August 1st, 1953 to Carl and Thelma (Emerson) Voyles. Jim was a member of the former EUB Evangelical United Brethren Church in Palmyra. He was a graduate of North Harrison High School, class of 1971. Jim retired from the Harrison County Park System after 21 years where he served as Manager of the Buffalo Trace Park in Palmyra most of his career.

 Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, and fishing. He was also very musically talented playing the fiddle, banjo, and piano for family and friends to enjoy. Jim was on the Palmyra Sesquicentennial Historical Committee serving as one of the editors of the historical book and video of the 150th celebration event. Jim was very artistic and created several logos for organizations and the community including the Sesquicentennial, Palmyra Fish Fry, and Buffalo Trace Park.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Thelma Voyles. He is survived by his brothers: John Voyles and Bob Voyles of Palmyra. Direct cremation was chosen by the family.
