Matthew C. Bardsley, 56, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021.
Matt was born on April 3, 1965, in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Bluffton High School. Matt was active duty in the U.S. Army for 3 years and retired from the Fort Wayne Air Guard after 22 years of military service. He graduated from Lincoln Tech with an associate’s degree in diesel mechanics. Matt worked at NIPSCO for 30 years finishing out his career as a gas measurement technician.
Matt was a member of Living Faith Missionary Church, Yoder.
Matt was happily married to his wife, Kristy, and a devoted dad to his two daughters, Audrey and Rachel.
Matt was preceded in death by his father and mother, Max and Marilyn Bardsley. He is survived by his wife, Kristy; two daughters (Audrey and Rachel Bardsley); his sisters, Teresa Ibholm, Kathy Carney, Kris (Chad) Biberstein, Tina (Dee) Ripley; brother-in law Robert Miller (Sherri); and his father-in-law and mother-in-law (Larry and Dawn Miller); along with 17 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Matt will be held at Ouabache State Park Lodge on Friday, Oct. 15. There will be a message for family and close friends of Matt from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Visitation and fellowship for all that want to attend will immediately follow. Please dress comfortably, bring a lawn chair and enjoy fellowship with others who loved Matt.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to be shared by his daughters, Audrey and Rachel, as a start on their futures or to Friends Who Care Cancer Relief Foundation in Matt’s name.
