James R. “Jim” Tudor, 81, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 13, 2021, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Jim was born in Bluffton on Jan. 17, 1940, to Raymond J. and Anna L. (Hiester) Tudor. Both parents preceded him in death. Jim married Beth A. DeHoff in Bluffton on Mar. 2, 1989; she survives.
After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1958 Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1958 until 1962. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1962, Jim went to work for the United States Postal Service, retiring on Dec. 31, 1999. He and Beth attended the First Reformed Church in Bluffton, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 111 and the Bluffton Masonic Lodge 145 F.&A.M.
Jim was an avid golfer and a voracious reader. He enjoyed watching sports and following his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and Indiana Hoosiers. Jim had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories and playing euchre.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two brothers, Robert (Maggie) Tudor of Bluffton and William (Marjorie) Tudor of Roscommon, Mich.; and a sister, Linda (Tom) Mountain of Lexington, Ky.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a memorial service at 11 a.m.. Bishop Jerry Qualls will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bluffton-Wells County Animal Shelter.
