    Marshall L. Smith

    Marshall L. Smith, 77, of Frankfort, died January 13, 2020 at his home, following a brief illness.  Born September 24, 1942 in Lebanon, IN.  His parents Robert H. and Ida Ruth (Whitinger) Smith preceded him in death.  He married Phoebe A. Maish on June 7, 1964 at the Kirklin Methodist Church and she survives. Marshall graduated in 1960 from Clinton Central High School and received his B.A. in Education from Purdue University in 1964.  He was a teacher of American History in Rossville, IN and Cheltenham High School in PA.  He then worked for Beard Industries ending his 34-year career as plant manager and Vice President.  Marshall was a member…

    Joe L. Pickering

    Joe L. Pickering, 73, of rural Frankfort, died January 7, 2020.  He was born October 2, 1946 in Lebanon, Indiana to Arthur E. & Vivian U. (Hickerson) Pickering. Joe was a 1964 graduate of Frankfort High School.   He had previously worked at National Seal in Frankfort and then was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Lafayette, where he retired after 35 years.  Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed feeding the animals at the T.P.A. park, car shows, motorcycling, boating and traveling.     James R. Anderson, 95, of Frankfort, died January 7, 2020 at Wesley Manor.  He was born March 10, 1924 in Clinton County to Chaska & Jessie (Ruddell) Anderson.  He married Martha D. Crull on July 27, 1947 and she preceded him in death on January 4, 1996. James was a 1942 graduate of Jackson Township High School and attended Purdue University.  He was a lifelong Clinton County resident and farmer.   He was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Farm Bureau Board Member.     The post James R.     Muriel Rose (Everman) Smith, 64, of Frankfort passed away January 7, 2020 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born October 26, 1955 in Clinton County to James and Bonnie (Ambers) Everman.  She married G. Jeffrey Smith on June 13, 1974 and he survives. A lifelong Clinton County resident, Muriel attended Frankfort Senior High School and worked for Frito-Lay in Frankfort as a packaging machine operator for 35 years, retiring in 2015.  She enjoyed camping and playing on her tablet and loved her children, grandchildren, and dogs: Doug and Duke and the late Lady and Pepper.  Her peaceful spirit and attitude will always be remembered.     Jimmie Pettit, 81, of Frankfort, died January 6, 2020 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.  He was born April 7, 1938 to the late Leon & Frances (Brunamer) Pettit.  He married Sharon Lynn Marley on September 4, 1977 and she survives. Jimmie attended Frankfort High School.  He was a security guard, working for Peter Paul/Zachery in Frankfort. Jimmie was a Ham Radio Operator.     Katherine King, 89, passed away peacefully at her Kirklin home on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 with loved ones by her side. Katherine was born on October 9, 1930 to James & Ruby (Bennett) Stowers and lived most of her 89 years in Kirklin, Indiana.  She had lived and experienced more that she ever dreamed she would. Katherine/Gram was known for her love of people and knew no strangers.  Her home was always open to friends and family.  She was a wonderful grandmother.     Donna Kay Kingsolver, 81, of Kirklin, Ind., died at 4:50 p.m. December 24, 2019 at Wesley Manor.  Born June 8, 1938 in Frankfort, Ind. to Robert & Doris (Goldsberry) Miller.  She married James Alvin Kingsolver on June 10, 1956 in Kirklin and he survives.     Norman Charles Huffer, 81, of Michigantown, died Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Ft. Myers, Florida.  He was born in Michigantown on March 1, 1938 to the late Don C. & Olean (Stevenson) Huffer.  He married the love of his life Dixie Lee Bosworth on June 28, 1959 and they shared 60 years of marriage together.
