    Charles L. “Chuck” Toney

    Charles L. “Chuck” Toney, 73, of Frankfort, died April 4, 2020 at his home after battling cancer for the past year.  Born May 8, 1946 in Clinton County, Ind. to Edward D. & Alice D. Toney.  He married Teresa M. (Ball) Schimmel on December 2, 2008 in Frankfort and she survives. Chuck attended Lebanon High School.  A decorated veteran of the U.S. Marines, he served two tours during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart.  Following Vietnam, he was dispatcher for the Clinton County Sheriff Department, and in 1999 he retired after 26 years as a Frankfort Police Officer.  He then became lead security guard for Caterpillar in Lafayette…

    Fred Lee Platt, 81, of Frankfort, died April 3, 2020 at his home.  He was born May 24, 1938 in Frankfort, Ind to Thelma (Howe) Platt.  He married Delores Greeno and she preceded him in death. Fred worked at Archers Daniels Midland Company and A.E. Staley Company for a total of 44 years, retiring on May 1, 2004.  He was a member of the Ambassadair Travel Club, Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in Frankfort.  He enjoyed remote control airplanes and he flew them with a local club by the Frankfort lagoons.     Mary Loueva Rhine, 88, of Pendleton, Ind., died March 31, 2020 at Rawlins House in Pendleton.  Her husband Marion was sitting by her side and she passed peacefully.  She was born February 3, 1932 in Sheridan, Ind. to Doyle William & Helena Ernestine (Moore) Pruitt.  She married Marion Rhine on August 3, 1958 in Logansport, Ind. and he survives. Loueva was a 1950 graduate of Westfield High School and attended the Union Bible Seminary Academy in Westfield for 3 years.  She was a teacher and librarian at Frankfort Pilgrim College and then Wesleyan College. Karen was involved in 4H and showed Red Poll Cattle with her family for many years.  She was a 1957 Kirklin High School graduate.  She began working in 1957 at Clinton County Bank and Trust and retired in 1997 as Vice President of Chase Bank.
